Andela Trommel Specifications

       Andela Trommel Separator

The trommel is a rotating screen for the size classification of pulverized glass and the separation of the pulverized glass from the trash (plastic, metal and paper) or other types of material.  The trommel has screen sized to produce a broad ran of sizes per our customers specification.  As an option, the next larger trommel model is offered with several different screen openings to produce a finer glass sand product and/or larger glass gravel size.

Our larger trommels use a flexible mount mechanism that operates with a shaft-mounted right angle gear reducer for direct drive of the drum or barrel.  The totally enclosed power/gear unit operates effectively in an environment with airborne contaminants like glass dust, dirt, or other abrasive matter.  The flexible or “floating” mount compensates for any barrel or shaft deflection.

Rotating brushes ride on top of the screen to continually keep the screen holes open and clear of wet glass, paper and other debris.  Maintenance access doors and external grease blocks provide for ease of maintenance.

The pulverized glass falls through the screen and into a bunker, tip hoppers or other container positioned directly under the trommel screen.   The larger debris (caps, plastics, larger paper etc.) exit the end of the trommel screen separator and are deposited separately from the glass aggregate.
